Manchester United are finally closing in on the signing of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho in an £80 million deal.
A deal is close to being agreed between the two teams for United to sign Sancho for £75m – plus an extra £5m in add-ons.
Sancho, who is currently with England preparing for Tuesday’s Euro 2020 last 16 game with Germany, will become a United player after the competition.
The Red devils tried to sign winger Sancho last summer, but refused to meet his club’s £110m asking price for the player. But Dortmund have reduced their asking price after the pandemic and a deal is all but done.
Dialogue has been ongoing between United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and Dortmund counterpart Hans Joachim-Watzke, with a view to agreeing a possible fee and payment structure.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made Sancho his No.1 summer transfer target, with Anthony Martial expected to be the major casualty of the deal for the England international.
Martial is expected to be sold in order to make way for Sancho, with Spurs interested in the player, who failed to make France squad for Euro 2020.

Dortmund need funds from Sancho’s sale after deciding not to sell Erling Haaland this summer. And the Norwegian is expected to stay at the club for one more campaign, before leaving next summer when his release clause can be activated.
Sancho, who will be handed a five-year contract at Old Trafford, with the option of a further year, will earn a deal worth around £250,000-per-week.
Sancho will leave Dortmund with their blessing after giving the German side another year after seeing last summer’s move fail to materialise.
His move will hand Dortmund a huge profit, having spent £8million on Sancho to take him as a 17-year-old from Man City back in 2017.
