Tammy Abraham issues apology after breaking Covid rules at party with Sancho & Chilwell

Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham has issued an apology for breaking coronavirus rules by attending a party with Ben Chilwell and Jadon Sancho.

All three players were named in the England team last week and are set to meet up at St George’s Park on Monday.

But their places in the team could now be in jeopardy after they were filmed at Abaraham’s surprise birthday party on Saturday.

According to The Sun, around 20 people attended the surprise party, which goes against Government restrictions which do not allow gatherings of more than six persons.

A source close to Tammy Abraham told the newspaper: ‘He genuinely had no idea it was going to happen. ‘He and Sancho didn’t drink alcohol.

‘It was family and very close friends only – and they even did temperature checks on arrival.’

But The Sun claims the Football Association has said the footage has been reviewed and the three players will remain in the England team.

Abraham, meanwhile, issued an apology for breaking coronavirus regulations: ‘I arrived home to find a small surprise gathering.

‘Though I was totally unaware this was planned, I would like to wholeheartedly apologise for the naivety shown for the organisation and attending of this gathering.

‘All I can do now is learn from it, apologise to everyone and ensure it never happens again.’
