Chelsea are set to be without Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz and Thiago Silva for this weekend’s Premier League game against Newcastle.
Frank Lampard’s team are looking to continue the good form they had before the international break, after finally finding their mojo after the arrival of Edouard Mendy from Rennes.
Like many other clubs, Chelsea have their own fair share of problems due to the nature of this season’s hectic schedule. But Lampard has one of the strongest squad in the League and he will need to put that to use against Newcastle.
According to The Athletic, Pulisic and Havertz will stay behind this weekend as they look to return to the team.
Pulisic has not played any game since pulling out of the starting lineup at Burnley, after picking up a hamstring injury in the warm-up.
The American winger is still believed to be two to three weeks away from making a full recovery, And Havertz has been absent ever since he tested positive for coronavirus ahead of the Champions League game with Rennes.
The German midfielder stayed in London during the international break in order to complete his period of isolation.

The midfielder has now been given the green light to return to training but, as a result of the virus his fitness levels have dropped. For that reason, Havertz is unlikely to feature and there will also be a possible third absentee.
Thiago Silva will not return to England until Thursday after playing in Brazil’s 2-0 victory in Uruguay. And Lampard has already had to monitor his use of the veteran and he now looks unlikely to play against Newcastle.
