Reece James names the strongest player in the Chelsea squad

Reece James has identified two of the strongest players in the Chelsea team, one of whom might surprise you.

Despite their standing in the Premier League standings, there’s no denying that Mauricio Pochettino commands a squad filled with star talent.

If all the pieces fall into place for the Blues, Chelsea possess the talent to thrust themselves into contention for the title in the coming seasons.

Reece James is among those endowed with an immense amount of skill. The 24-year-old captain has been plagued by injuries in recent years, but there’s no question about his potential greatness.

During a rapid-fire Q&A session on the Premier League YouTube channel, James was prompted to identify the three most formidable players in the Chelsea squad.

Initially, the right-back humorously selected himself three times before highlighting Axel Disasi and Robert Sanchez as the standout performers.

“Axel’s very strong as well. To be fair, Rob is also strong. You probably don’t get to see it, but he’s strong,” he said.

Robert Sanchez has experienced a lackluster beginning at Stamford Bridge. Despite his solid performances at Brighton, where he wasn’t always the first-choice goalkeeper last season, the 26-year-old has struggled to make a significant impact.

With only three clean sheets in 16 Premier League appearances so far, Sanchez’s tenure has been underwhelming. In his absence due to a knee injury, Djordje Petrovic has stepped up with some notable displays.

On the other hand, Axel Disasi recently showcased one of his finest performances for Chelsea in their recent victory over Aston Villa, alongside several other standout players.

While Chelsea still have a considerable journey ahead, there have been more promising signs for the club in their recent outings.

James’ remarks demonstrate that strength permeates every area of the pitch.
