Antonio Rudiger’s stance on Chelsea future amid possible move to Real Madrid

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger is open to staying at Stamford Bridge but only if his demands are met, with the player aware of the interest from Real Madrid & PSG.

The defender had looked set to leave last January but the appointment of Thomas Tuchel to take over from Frank Lampard revived Rudiger’s career at the club.

The German star is now a regular again for the London side and they have opened negotiations with Rudiger’s representatives to extend his contract, which is set to expire at the end of the campaign.

Rudiger is open to staying at Chelsea but he is aware that this is set to be the last huge contract of his career and he wants to protect his future by getting a big salary from the Blues.

According to Goal, Chelsea are keen to keep Rudiger but they are reported to be ‘cautious’ over his demands and will not compromise their wage structure in order to keep him.

Chelsea were unable to land Jules Kounde from Sevilla in the summer window after the La Liga club refused to listen to offers for the player.

But, Sevilla insisted that the only way Kounde would leave was if the France international’s £68m release clause was activated.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are both interested in signing Rudiger on a free transfer.

The Ligue 1 giants landed players like Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos on free transfers in the summer, while Madrid are on the lookout for cheap deals after selling Raphael Varane.
