Thiago Silva hits out at Jude Bellingham in X-rated rant from the stands

Thiago Silva was annoyed as he watched Chelsea’s Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund, raging at Jude Bellingham after a late foul from the player.

The injured defender is likely to be out of action for around six weeks but was in the stands at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday to see his team-mates secure a 2-1 aggregate win over Dortmund.

Chelsea had gone into the game against the German side – who had been on a 10-game winning run and sit second in the league table only on goal difference – with a one-goal deficit to overturn from the first leg.

The Blues made a superb start to the contest and dominated the early exchanges, though had to wait until the 43rd minute before Raheem Sterling opened the scoring.

Shortly after the break, a controversial penalty was awarded and after Kai Havertz’s initial spot-kick hit the post he was given a second chance after encroachment from Dortmund, dispatching his effort well this time around.

Going behind in the contest brought greater urgency and attacking intent from Dortmund, who started to lay siege to Chelsea’s goal in the final stages, but the London club held on to progress to the quarter-final.

Deep into added time, Dortmund star Bellingham in particular became a little ragged and rushed as they tried to look for an equaliser.

The England star – who is on the transfer wish list of Chelsea and every top team in Europe – gave away the ball cheaply as he tried to get his side up the pitch late on and then ploughed through Reece James in order to make up for his error.

That sparked a furious reaction from Silva, who was watching from the players’ box, with his wife Belle filming him calling for Bellingham to be sent off.

‘Son of a *****, not my full-back for the love of god!’ yelled the veteran from the stands, before throwing his arm up in the air and shouting, ‘Red card!’

Dutch referee Danny Makkelie initially waved play on as Chelsea broke towards goal, but when play was stopped he showed Bellingham a yellow card.

James was in pain after the challenge and was moving gingerly at the end of the match, though he did shake hands and share a little laugh with his England team-mate after the match.

Silva, meanwhile, looked furious as the seconds ticked away in Tuesday’s clash, before pumping his fists and screaming in joy when the full-time whistle was blown.
