Carabao Cup quarter-final draw: Man Utd, Arsenal & Man City learn opponents

Manchester United will play Everton in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, while Arsenal will face Manchester City at home after beating Liverpool on penalties.

Tottenham travel to the bet365 Stadium to play against Stoke City after defeating Chelsea in a penalty shootout in the previous round.




The final match-up in the draw is Championship side Brentford who will play against Newcastle United.

Arsenal needed penalties to get past a Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield on Thursday night after a goalless draw in normal time.

Joe Willock scored the winning penalty as Bernd Leno made two huge saves in the shootout.

Mikel Arteta fielded a fairly strong lineup, which included players like Leno, Granit Xhaka and £72 million signing Nicolas Pepe.

The German goalkeeper kept the gunners in the game in the second half, making a number of important saves as Arsenal progressed to the next round.




Mikel Arteta will be looking to claim his second piece of silverware as a manager after guiding Arsenal to FA Cup glory last campaign.

United breezed through to the quarters with a 3-0 victory over Brighton, while Tottenham needed penalties to beat the blues, and Manchester City put three goals past Burnley without any reply to book a place in the next round.




The quarter-final games will take place on the week commencing December 21. The Carabao Cup final will be played at Wembley on February 28, 2021.
