Southampton striker Danny Ings has reportedly rejected a new deal at St Mary’s amid speculation Manchester United are interested in his signature.
Ings’ current contract is due to expire in 2022 and there has been uncertainty around his future, with the Saints yet to make any progress regarding a new deal.
The Red devils have been monitoring the situation and recently made an enquiry for Ings as Solskjaer looks to add quality to his team after finally landing Jadon Sancho and tying down Edinson Cavani for another year.
Man City are also said to be keen on the striker, who finished last campaign as Southampton’s top scorer with 13 goals in all competitions despite missing much of the season through injury.
According to The Athletic, both Manchester teams could have a chance of landing Ings this summer, with his contract talks still at an impasse.
Money is not believed to be an issue for Ings but the player is hoping for another shot with a big team competing for major honours.
It means Southampton may be forced to cash in on Ings this summer or risk losing him for nothing at the end of next campaign.

Recent reports suggested the Southampton could be willing to sell him should they receive a bid of between £25-30m for his signature over the coming weeks.
‘I’ve got a contract until the summer of 2022,’ Ings told talkSPORT when quizzed about his future in May.
‘I haven’t really acknowledged them [transfer rumours].
‘I’ve just been focused on each game. Ultimately, I’ve still got a contract here.
‘My main focus is to finish the season strong.’
