Why Man Utd board blocked move for Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz
Manchester United decided not to sign Kai Havertz because they deemed Bayer Leverkusen’s £90m price tag to be ‘excessive’.
But the midfielder is set to sign for Chelsea this summer and Leroy Sane appeared to confirm his move to the club earlier this week.

The German has attracted huge interest from Europe in the last 18 months, including clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Manchester United were also interested in the 21-year-old and Solskjaer discussed about signing Havertz with his board in the January window.
But, according to the Athletic, the United board felt £90m was too much for Havertz and that, Leverkusen’s price tag would still come down.
