Zidane: I wouldn’t swap Cristiano Ronaldo for Mo Salah

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane says he would not swap Cristiano Ronaldo for Liverpool’s forward Mohamed Salah.

The two players will go head to head in Saturday’s Champions League final, with Salah’s outstanding performances this campaign drawing comparisons to Ronaldo and Messi.

Salah’s 44-goal season has also led to speculation that he could join Real Madrid this summer.

Mohamed Salah won the Premier League Golden Boot ahead of Harry Kane after a scintillating season for Liverpool.

When asked if he would swap Ronaldo for Salah, Zidane said: “No, I have Cristiano and I talk about my players.”

Ronaldo, who is the Champions League’s leading goalscorer this campaign having found the scored 15 times, has now scored 42 goals in all competitions this season.

The Portugal international will be looking to catch Salah when two sides meet in Kiev on Saturday, with Madrid looking for a third consecutive Champions League title and a fourth in five seasons, while Liverpool will be looking to win the trophy for the first time since 2005.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists his team’s lack of experience in major finals will not be a disadvantage against Real.

“I can’t tell you about the opponent,” Zidane said. “I don’t know what they are.

“What I can say is that we will have the same desire as always. This club is what it is – the same enthusiasm, dedication and desire as always. And nobody can take that away or tell us that we are less hungry than others. No one.
