The break-in occurred during Barcelona’s 3-0 Champions League win against Liverpool. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The burglars are understood to have taken valuables which include jewellery and a Rolex watch along with some cash. A spokesman for the regional Mossos d’Esquadra police force confirmed officers were investigating a break-in at Arthur Melo's house. The spokesman added: “We would not say who lives at the property. All I can confirm is that we are investigating a break-in and robbery at an address in Pedralbes.” The 22-year-old did not take part in the first-le...

Messi slams Barcelona fans after CL win over Liverpool

La Liga, UEFA
Lionel Messi criticised Barcelona supporters for their treatment of Philippe Coutinho after his team’s 3-0 Champions League victory against Liverpool. Over 98,000 spectators were in the Camp Nou for a masterclass from Messi, who scored a brace in the second half to leave Liverpool needing a miracle at Anfield. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Despite the scoreline, Liverpool dominated large parts of the match and forced Barcelona into a change of system after the interval to stem the flow of Liverpool's attacks. While Luis Suarez scored the opener against his former club, Coutinho was less impressive and he was substituted on the hour mark to a chorus of boos from the home fans. Messi is close friends with Coutinho and the Argentine slammed his own...

Adebayo reveals the time Mourinho ‘killed’ Ronaldo even when he scored a hat-trick

La Liga
Emmanuel Adebayor has claimed that former Madrid manager Jose Mourinho killed everyone in Real Madrid’s changing room which also included Ronaldo. The Togo international spent the second half of the 2010-11 campaign at Real Madrid when Mourinho was the head coach there. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); And Adebayor talked about one particular dressing room meltdown that saw Mourinho take out his frustration on the Portugal international. "At Real, we were winning 3-0 at half-time. [Mourinho] came into the dressing room and went mental," he recalled to the Daily Mail. "He kicked the fridge, kicked the television, threw water. He killed everyone. I remember he once killed Ronaldo after he scored a hat-trick. "He said, 'Everyone says you are the best ...

De Gea apologises to team-mates after embarrassing howler in Barca defeat

Premier League, La Liga, UEFA
David De Gea apologised to his Manchester United team-mates after his Nou Camp mistake sealed their Champions League exit. The Spain international was inconsolable after allowing Lionel Messi’s second goal to roll under his body as Barcelona got an easy 4-0 aggregate win. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); He could do nothing about the first, however, as Barca's forward arrowed a left-footed curler into the bottom corner. Similarly ex-Liverpool player Philippe Coutinho hit a sublime effort from outside the box that made its way into the top corner well out of De Gea's reach. However, United's stopper could not forgive himself for the gift he gave Messi that helped to end all hope they could progress through to the next stage. De Gea said sorry after ...

The 21-year-old is likely to lead the line for Manchester United on Tuesday at the Camp Nou in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final after losing to them last week. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Barcelona hold a 1-0 advantage over the Premier League team and could be prepared to strike an even more telling blow once the summer window opens. The England international has 12 months remaining on his current contract at Old Trafford, with reports this month suggesting the striker was ‘close’ to signing a £70million deal over five years. Pogba to be offered United captaincy in bid to end Real Madrid transfer talk

Premier League, La Liga, Transfer Info
Manchester United are ready to make Paul Pogba club captain in a bid to show the France international how much they value him at Old Trafford. Sunday Mirror Sport claimed last week that United have told the 26-year-old that he will not be sold this summer despite Real Madrid launching a charm offensive to prise him away from the club. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); And now United are ready to hand Pogba more responsibility by making him the club skipper – and will also hold talks aimed at securing his long-term future on a new deal. Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants a new leader ahead of next campaign. ‘I made Barcelona win, not Messi’, Samuel Eto’o slams Guardiola’s treatment of him

La Liga
Former Barcelona forward Samuel Eto'o has accused Pep Guardiola of not understanding the squad despite leading them to their first treble in the 2008-09 campaign. Eto'o had a fall-out with the head coach and found regular playing time limited with Guardiola deciding to field a young Lionel Messi in what turned out to be his last campaign at the club. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Despite the manager's preference, the ex-Cameroon international ended the season as Barca's top scorer in La Liga with 30 goals and also netted the opener in their 2-0 defeat of Manchester United in the 2009 Champions League final. While recalling his relationship with the present Manchester City manager, Eto'o revealed that he forced the Catalan to plead for forgiveness with...

Lukaku fires warning to United after Barca defeat

Premier League, La Liga, UEFA
Romelu Lukaku concedes Manchester United will find it more difficult to make a successful Champions League comeback against Barcelona than the one they managed against Paris Saint-Germain. United booked their place in the Champions League quarter-finals with an outstanding 3-1 win over PSG last month and were rewarded with a tie against Barcelona. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side face another hard battle after Barca left Old Trafford on Wednesday with a 1-0 win after Luke Shaw’s own goal in the first half. United failed to register a shot on target during their game against the Spanish champions, and Lukaku believes that his side need to show a major improvement in the return leg at Camp Nou. ‘Barca are not PSG, they ha...

Premier League, La Liga, UEFA
Juan Mata insists Manchester United are ready for a meeting with Lionel Messi and Barcelona, with United respecting their Champions League opponents rather than fearing to face them. The Liga title holders are set to play at Old Trafford on Wednesday night for the first leg of a heavyweight quarter-final clash. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ernesto Valverde’s side have been in impressive form again this campaign, with their incredible Argentine forward leading the way after blasting through the 40-goal barrier once more. United have been warned that trying to contain Messi is a thankless task, but Mata believes they are capable of holding their own against Barcelona as a team. The Spaniard told the Daily Star of the challenge facing United: “We are...
