Lampard drops Kai Havertz transfer hint on Instagram

Frank Lampard has fuelled rumours that Kai Havertz could be set for a transfer move by ‘liking’ a video of the Leverkusen star on Instagram.

Chelsea have already wrapped up deals for Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech but Lampard is not done in this summer’s market.

Signing a good left-back remains at the top of Lampard’s wishlist – with Ben Chilwell and Sergio Reguilon being eyed – and reports claim Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Havertz.

Havertz has reportedly agreed a five-year deal with Chelsea and the blues are confident of completing a deal for the German starlet.

Lampard remained tight-lipped when asked about Havertz but Chelsea fans have seen a huge hint from their manager on Instagram.

Instagram account 433 posted a video of Havertz going past an opposition Mainz player with a deft nutmeg between his legs – and it’s evident Frank Lampard was an admirer.

The Chelsea head coach was one of the many thousands to show their appreciation by ‘liking’ the short clip.

Lampard refused to rule out a possible move for Havertz when asked about the player after Chelsea’s defeat against Bayern Munich.

‘I wouldn’t expect anything but it’s our job to go away and see what happens and see where we can improve,’ he said. ‘In a footballing sense, I feel like I know where we can improve but now it’s time to look at that.’

He added: ‘We will look at that because that’s our job, my job and we’re very joined up with how we’ve worked at it already.

Lampard ‘liked’ the video of Kai Havertz on Instagram

‘From having a transfer ban, you feel the fact we missed out where other clubs had spent and improved and recruitment is a big part of this game.

‘Nights like tonight for me from a footballing sense show me a lot so it’s a conversation now the season is ended. ‘It’s a very quick turnaround but now is the time to see what areas we can improve in.’
