West Ham demand Man Utd star Anthony Martial in deal for Issa Diop

West Ham United want Manchester United‘s forward Anthony Martial in exchange for Issa Diop, if any deal is to be done for the defender.

The Manchester United board have investigated the possibility of completing a deal for the 22-year-old, but West Ham have so far shown no willingness to sell the centre-back.

However, Manchester United would rather not lose 23-year-old Martial – but with defensive reinforcements a major priority for Ole Solskjaer, may be tempted to do a deal.

In initial talks, however, the London club have indicated that they may be willing to do business if Martial comes the other way.

The France international has had an inconsistent spell at Old Trafford since signing in 2015, and there has been a debate over whether he should be sold – especially under Mourinho – but the club are of the view that his talent is worth persisting with.

As of their last discussions, United were not ready to let Anthony Martial go.

And a source close to Issa Diop says West Ham would sell him for £60m, Manchester United, PSG and Barcelona have also contacted his representatives.

United meanwhile maintain their stand that they are not willing to sell Paul Pogba, with PSG and Juventus interested.

The Frenchman would consider a move back to Juventus, but the impasse has brought Paris Saint-Germain back in, as they weigh up the situation.

The 26-year-old finally made his desire to leave Old Trafford clear, saying that it’s time for a “new challenge”, but many reports say he’s for a long time been “desperate to leave”.

Real Madrid has been his No 1 option, and Zinedine Zidane wants Pogba at any price, but the Bernabeu hierarchy are not keen to spend more than £110m after a summer that has already seen them break £350m.

The midfielder would consider a return to Juventus, but the impasse has brought PSG back in, as they weigh up the situation.
